Set up a Mailee Mail mailbox
Mailee Mail is hosted business email on your own domain — mailboxes like you@yourcompany.com with a full webmail client, sent and received through Mailee's infrastructure. Here's how to set one up.
1. Add and verify your domain
In a Mail workspace, go to Mailboxes & domains → Add domain and enter your domain. Mailee shows the DNS records that route and authenticate mail for it — see Mailbox DNS and MX records for exactly what to add and why.
Add those records at your DNS provider, then click Verify. The domain must be verified before you can create mailboxes on it.
2. Create a mailbox
Once the domain is verified:
- Click New mailbox.
- Choose the address (the part before the
@) and a display name. - Set a password — this is what you'll use to sign in to webmail and to configure any external mail app.
Mailee provisions the mailbox on the mail server. It moves from Provisioning to Active within a minute or two.
3. Sign in
Open your mailbox in Mailee's built-in webmail from the workspace, or connect any IMAP/SMTP client (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird) using the mailbox address and password. See Using Mailee webmail.
Plans and limits
Each plan includes a number of mailboxes and a storage pool:
- Lite — 5 mailboxes
- Pro — 10 mailboxes
- Business — 15 mailboxes
Storage is effectively unlimited: each mailbox keeps a fast 1 GB hot cache of recent mail, and older messages tier automatically to archive storage you can always search and restore. If you hit your mailbox count, upgrade your plan to add more.
Tip: Set up your DNS carefully the first time. Mail routing problems almost always trace back to a missing or mistyped MX record.
